Notes: The Washington Post reported on May 30th that Al Gore was ending his attack-a-day strategy in favor of leaving attacks on George W. Bush to his spokespersons. Though the Gore camp denies any change in strategy, most analysts noted that Gore had indeed stopped attacking personally. Bush has been leading Gore in the polls and some commentators believe Gore has been coming across negatively. Contrariwise, Bush has been seen as being congenial in the face of the attacks ... even Reaganesque. At this writing, Gore is believed to have already made gains against Bush with the shift in strategy. 06.02.00
