Notes: George W. Bush moved to the far right in the South Carolina primary. The strategy worked for him as he won by a big margin. But, to attract more moderate voters in other parts of the country, Bush has to move back from the right towards the middle. This will be particularly true if he wins the nomination because he'll need to attract independent and cross-over Democratic voters to win the general election. Still, he may be tagged by his visit to Bob Jones University and by John McCain's calling him a Pat Robertson Republican. 02.25.00
